Best place to live in the uk ?

Looking for advice! We are looking to move house - and are doing research into where to move to. So thought I’d ask on here: where do you think is the most lively place to live in the uk? Most beautiful, most friendly, best quality of life etc etc? We don’t want to live in the middle of a big city, but apart from that have an open mind. We love nature so access to nature is a big priority. Would love to hear people’s views on this! Thanks!

  • Okay so I’m halfway kidding because it’s not in the UK, but I’m also halfway serious so…

    What about Vermont?

I know immigrating to the US doesn’t sound appealing right now, but bear with me. Beautiful countryside, no fast food, and very friendly people. And if you don’t like the current American regime, neither does anyone in Vermont. No matter where you live in Vermont you’re at least close enough to either Burlington, Montpelier, or Rutland, so you can get rugged rural living while still being like an hour away from a sizable city.

And bonus, it’s a quick escape to Canada if you need to lol

  • That’s not something that has crossed my mind at all - but to be honest I think that’s an amazing and wonderful idea. Really thinking out the box. I don’t think we have the courage or the funds to do that - but it’s a wonderful idea and I’m sure it would be beautiful. My son has a real aversion to any form of foreign travel (verging on phobia really) - so he would definitely veto it! But it’s an enticing thought - and I love the idea!
