Companion Planting

Does anyone else do this? Companion planting is planting plants together that benefit one or both plants.

I plant chives around my rose bushes, they look pretty together and the smell of the chives puts off black fly, the chive flowers attract things like hover flies who eat black and green flies.

French marrigold with tomatoes as theres a substance in the marigold roots that the tomatoes like.

Nastursiums planted with beans maybe running up the canes alongside runner beans will act as a sacrificial plant, if nastursiums are on the menu then 9 out of 10 blackfy will choose them over beans, you can remove a nastursium leaf and dispose of it and the black fly.

I plant lots of flowers around my garden and although I have fruit and veg plots, they're always full of flowers as the flowers attract polinating insects and especially hover flies, they're one of the best garden friends you can have, they will eat a huge amount of aphids, black and green flies and are territorial and patrol certain areas.

Can anyone think of any others?
