How does your garden grow?

Mines doing well, rampant dandelions, I've been dea heading them so I hopefully dont' get more.

The blossom is out on the trees and my currants have loads of flowers, so do the strawberries and raspberries. The rhubarb has bolted, I'm not sure why, maybe the shock of going from winter to spring in a few days?

I planted 5 hyssop plants and a verbascum, the hyssop is good, all the creatures love it, it's perrenial and it can be used as part of a zataar herb mix and it's good for chest problems like COPD. I love plants that serve so many purposes.

I have buds on the hydrangeas already, maybe I'll have two lots of flowering?

I planted some romanesco cauliflowers and they've just started coming up, but I'm still waiting for the kallets I planted at the same time.

Parents
  • With silver bells and cockle shells..

Today I cut a hedge that seems to be mutating into a hedgerow, planted chamomile around a new small apple tree in the grass (too small to be called a lawn) and reattached a rose to an arch, amongst other things.

I spend a disproportionate amount of time watching bees working on their hotel rooms.

  • I love lillies of the valley, but they're poisonous to dogs so I don't grow them.

How are bees at interior design?

We have a massive hedge, over 100ft long and about 12ft tall, it takes ages to cut, we have it done once a year. I really cut back my hazel hedge this year, copiced it properly for the first time, so it looks a bit bare, but it's starting to spring back to life.

  • I also picked Lilies of the Valley (or Lily of the Valleys Thinking) to put in a vase.

Their scent is astonishing but completely lost if they are in the ground.
