Why am I tempted to bulk buy Mars bars at 2am?

Why is it I fancy an early morning snack and am easily persuaded by bulk-buy Mars bars adverts? I know I shouldn't, because I have type 2 diabetes. But I confess I'm really looking forward to the delivery on Sunday, by my speedy Amazon delivery driver [he is very quiet and nearly as fast as Usain Bolt].

What have you been tempted to buy that you know on a practical level is not good for you or your wallet, yet fulfills a psychological need. Where would we be wthout treats? How is it possible to prevent yourself - or should you not even worry about it?

  • No I don't, I'm really bad at spending money on myself, my Dad used to go mental when I had money as a gift and bought something for the dogs or the house.

I think one is quite vulnerable at that time of day to buying stuff you don't need, I think it must be some kind of odd mix of dopamine and melatonin.
