Every time I buy a new electric item, I feel nervous; no idea why. After initial anxiety, I successfully tried my new 'Instant Pot' pressure cooker. I made butter chicken using a recipe from, 'Indian Instant Pot Cookbook' by Urvashi Pitre. I also bought, 'The Modern Multi-Cooker Cookbook' by Jenny Tschiesche. Both books had good reviews. I was amazed how quickly this device cooked my meal - 10 minutes! Of course, that doesn't include gathering ingredients and initial prep. For the butter chicken, I also made garam massala as Urvashi suggests. The result tasted authentic and delcious.
I'm looking forward to exploring the capabilities of this speedy cooking method and would love to hear from others who use this style of cooking. I'm hoping it will save a lot of electricity. See below for images of my home-made garam massala also my [semi eaten] butter chicken. I have enough for at least 3 more meals + lots of sauce!
