Sensory joy

I have just returned from a walk round where I live, and it’s windy and quite bright, I’ve got my sunglasses on, but no headphones today. I just walked past this large hedge covered in dry brown leaves, and it made the most exquisite noise as I passed ( it was the wind rustling the leaves). I felt such joy hearing it so clearly, it really made my day. That’s it really.

  • So quiet today. I love seeing buds on my shrubs getting fatter, ready to burst into millions of shades of green. And the soft scent of rotting timber warming next to the crosiers of ferns. I've noticed a hole underneath the hedghog house, so it seems he or she wants a two storey home! I love that my garden is home to many night creatures I've never seen, a secret little world that's safe from human intervention.
