hello there i am new to this and was hoping to get some advise as my head is all over the place my 2 1/2 year old son is currently waiting to be asssed by the child devloment team to see if he has autism we have had salt done and and hearing test and i have been told that he displays signs of autism i was wondering if any of you mums and dads or those living with autism could give me some advise as what to expect from the assesment also where do we go if they say he is ive been told there is help centre near me but i feel a bit silly going there asking questions based on a what if the more myself and my partner look into our sons behaviour and read more about autism the more things make sense as he still does not talk he mite say mum dad but not often it is all silent comunication and alot of hand pointing which im glad we can understand his needs but another thing im finding difficult is explaning to family members that our son is being tested im getting alot of negativty saying no his not his just slow and he will get theresomel kids are late talkers and its just the terrible twos which i find quite upsetting as i feel that if we do have a diagnoisis that these family members will not be as surportive to us
