Still Silent Snake

Still silent Snake

As the vultures prey,

Waiting their turn to pick away,

Exhausted he wonders if he’ll make another day,

No matter what morsels remain,

They play the waiting game,

Whilst the smell of rotting flesh drives prey insane,

He’ll nourish some good, some bad,

But others wellbeing makes him glad,

The pitiful remains to others though looks all so sad,

His mouth emits no sound,

He lays still on the ground,

Still absorbing knowledge and pain from all around,

As his skin dulls and his eye’s cloud,

His predators watching scream aloud,

But in trance moving between realms, his return is vowed,

The old can be shed,

As he leaves the realm of the dead,

For here’s the symbol of new beginnings, rebirth so it is said,

No longer can they restrain,

Clear eyes, glistening muscle no burden or pain,

Until it’s time to take stock, heal and nourish again,

Kundalini awakens the mind and soul,

The snakes wise healing powers can make one whole,

Once again reborn to achieve ones goal,

He is strong, mystical and wise,

Has seen much through his eyes,

In awe and wonder for generations he has, and continues to mesmerise.

  • Hi, yes for maybe 25 years, I have 2 snake tattoos, I'm also interested in the symbolisation and mentions in folk, myth and religion.  I once had 17 cornsnakes after breeding. I've had Australian spotted pythons, Monty Python, a normal Royal Python, Feather Boa, a red tail boa. I currently have a Blue eyed leutistic Royal Python, pure white. Facinating as you say. - Too much choice to.
