3 Good Things - Round 4

Since the third thread of gratitudes is redacted, I'll create a new one;

1. Managed to get a Sunday Lunch, at a local Spar, while supplies were available.

2. Got Manure, off my Mechanic, for growing Spuds; at his Stable.

3. Listened to a Podcast Interview of a Man who talked about Sticks used in Ireland; back in the days.

  • It's awful that they didn't empty your container with food waste. In these temperatures it smells and invites all kind of insects. You could maybe call them and complain or at least remind them to empty your container. But now it's done. Maybe some plant grows there where you buried all this stuff :)

  • 1. recycling team didn't empty my food waste for second week. I had to bury now-smelly contents [rock-hard bread, slices of cooked chicken and now-unrecognisable stuff] face vomiting  - hope no neighbours saw me Flushed.

    2. pruned apple tree with 6' long pruning shears - thin branches up to 6' long due to heat Sweat. Looking forward to shredding them with my new garden shredder Smiley.

    3. re-watched all 'Ann Droid' episodes whilst eating 2 slices of cheese on toast, 2 buttered scones, bowl of prunes and yoghurt and 2 cups of tea.

  • 1. Sent another email,

    2. Doing my best to stay calm,

    3. Ate better meals than most weeks.

  • Thank you, these colors are actually warmer but they look colder/ blueish on the photo

  • 1. Ordered more Silver Britannia Coins; Buyer's Market, again.

    2. Went to confession, at Portglenone Monastery.

    3. Managed to head home, easily, as a tyre was low on pressure; going easier, than usual, helps the sore tyre.

  • Had a rest it's a deep satisfaction. Maybe the coloring books will replace my pacing... which I do since my early childhood.

  • Had few hours only for myself,

Went to Berlin, to find the address of the psychologist who gonna assess me in autumn. I found it. It was long way over 60km with train and 2 different metro trains.

I'm back home. Now gonna rest.

Berlin looks great from a distance.  I love the mix of old classic architecture and the new futuristic. But when one looks closer - the city is awful. Overcrowded, noisy, smelly, it's easy to get lost there,a lot of homeless people,  also drank people, who just sleep in the underground or metro carts, they also get aggressive. I'm happy im not living there. Additionally it's a very expensive city, including rent.

  • Ok, but honestly I'm not sure, if it was any piece of empathy. I just enjoyed watching the movement. And she smiled to me, but I unfortunately failed to smile back because I was kinda overwhelmed and needed more time to process it everything. There was also a moment there, where my daughter threw her stuffed rabbit to the ground and I picked it up and told her I don't like it when she throws it because it makes me upset. And I hugged the rabbit. Then that woman with the marbles smiled to me again and her mother kept staring. On trips like this my husband talks to her mostly, I'm out. Always few steps behind or in front, I get brain-shake from this neverending chat. I can't cope.

  • Now I feel bad, that I might have upset someone.

Not at all! You are not responsible for how others react or feel. That poor woman did not know your your intention was good, but made an assumption based on her past experiences in support of her child - so neither of you should feel bad. This is how we run into misunderstandings in life - its not only an autistic thing!

  • A nice piece of empathy. The mother might have thought you were mockin her friend - I'm sure she has experienced this before, as people can be cruel.

Thank you for telling me this, I had no idea she could take it for mockery and I would never mock anyone. My stims are usually rocking and movements with fingers. Now I feel bad, that I might have upset someone.

  • 1. Got my car back.

    2. Got a USB Pen, and a USB Keypad, at a computer shop in a nearby town.

    3. My USB Adapter has a 2.0 port; so the USB Pen would be readable.

  • 1. Managed to squeeze out of the village just before they closed the road

    2. No phone calls today

    3. There was no one else in the lunch room

  • Had a Weetabix for breakfast today.

I like those and bitesize shreddies, especially with either berries or dried fruits. I sometimes eat them as a snack as well.

  • I started rocking in the rhythm of these marbles rolling inside the bag.

A nice piece of empathy. The mother might have thought you were mockin her friend - I'm sure she has experienced this before, as people can be cruel. People used to mock my brother for talking to himself. They should have asked him - he was working out complex maths in his head!

At home I would hate this sound, but on the train station it was OK.

Yes, it's odd isn't it? I have this in several situations. I don't like music when I feel stressed at home but outside I don't mind it, even in supermarkets where I don't feel comfortable.

  • Another mandala and relax with joy

Went to visit Potsdam with my family, I'm exhausted of all this chaos around. This city is much larger, than the little town we are living.

Had a bit interesting encounter on the train station. There was a family with a woman sitting in a wheelchair and moving a fabric bag with marbles inside between her hands. It was neverending repetitive motion and sound, which didn't bother me there. The woman looked at me smiling. I started rocking in the rhythm of these marbles rolling inside the bag. I also smiled to her and somehow enjoyed watching this motion. Then I looked up and realised that her mother was staring at me, I can't say why and what meant her expression but it was somehow unpleasant. When a train arrived with loud whistle I shook my head and covered my ears. Then I realised that woman had same reaction. Then she calmed down and smiled again while rolling her marbles in the bag. At home I would hate this sound, but on the train station it was OK.

    1. Went to the hair salon on Saturday morning. Didn't have a panic attack + my hair still looks and feels nice now.
    2. Took my mum to Morrisons yesterday.
    3. Had a Weetabix for breakfast today.
  • 1. Finished sanding the garden bench, which required a lot of sanding by hand on the detail. Looks as good as new and ready for its furniture stain.

    2. My terrier had fun on the agility course at dog club. He is fast and jumps well. His obedience class went quite well too.

    3. Vegetarian haggis and veg for tea tonight. A bit of Scots fare from our holidays.

  • 1. My neighbour lifted me, this afternoon, to the village shop; for me to buy compost soil, and get a cardboard box, to store my spuds.

    2. The LP, I ordered last week via Discogs, arrived in today's post; LP parcel, provided, was a Devil to open, though.

    3. Having a digest tea, after having a Baked spud and sirloin steak for Dinner.
