Gamers, what are you playing in 2026?

  • My next game will likely be RE9. I still need to play RE village so I might get that out the way first so that RE9 has a chance for a few improvement updates to drop before I do play it. As far as story and order I dont think there is a need to play either in any order but im not 100% on that

    Will have to look

  • I've always been thinking about getting into Resident Evil, but I've been finding it difficult to get a solid entry point. I've tried RE2 and 3

  • Those are very solid entry points, especially if you are talking about the remakes. Ive been playing them since I was a teen back on the PS1. Id always say start with the original. You dont need to do the PS1 version though, they done a remake that released on the Gamecube that updated all the visuals and was imo the best remake in the series history. There is resident evil zero which is set before the original resident evil but I dont think you need to start with it. Id say go with the original

Zero and Code veronica are getting the remake treatment like they did for 2 and 3 so you can wait for those to drop if you plan on doing the games in order. RE4 also got a remake

So i`d say go with the original that was remake version which was on older platforms but may be available through digital stores on current systems, then the remakes of 2 and 3 unless you want the retro original feel and play of the original ps1 versions. Then resident evil 4 remake unless you want to go with the gamecube or ps2 version which was an all-time great that set a new standard. From resident evil 5 onwards they are all available pretty cheap on most digital game stores on most platforms now
