My Autistic Son Pushing

Hi, im looking for some advice and guidance for my son. He is 4 years old, and just been diagnosed with stage 2 autism. His new thing at the moment his having meltdowns at home,then pushing children at school. As today he pushed a child and they hit there head.

As a mum, me and my partner are struggling as we aren't getting much help. As this is all new to us. So any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

  • Hi Zantia. Have you been able to access some support? Did you get some post-diagnosis support from your right to choose provider?

    If you are still stuggling, there are some great online support groups on social media that have face to face and online parental support. I tend to use Facebook for my groups, so not sure about other platforms.

    There are definitely things that can help for your son. But it's difficult to give exact advice on a forum like this. And it needs to be an overall intervention to help ever aspect to his difficutlies. It is possible to help meltdowns and to help a four year old navigate a neurotypical world. But it is a hard road as a parent. So I think the best advise to look after yourself and your partner and then you can take on the world for you son.
