I totally agree. Sometimes I leave the decs up until the end of January. The room looks bare without the tinsel!
I prefer a toasted teacake to hot cross buns, they've a little more spice in them.
My winter festival runs from solstice eve onwards, we don't have a set date for taking things down, it's just when I have the time and get fed up with them.
If people are aligned to the Twelve Days of Christmas tradition, a display of Easter bunnies could feel unsettling as it is still Christmas. Tonight is the Twelfth Night.
I dislike shopping and seeing Easter products at this time of year makes me feel that the world is rushing ahead and never content with the present. I know it’s all about manufacturers making money and shops maximising their profits, but I don’t like it.
I read somewhere that Easter eggs and chocolates are sent to shops from November for Easter the following year, and that some shops had their Easter stock on display before Christmas Eve.
I had some hot cross buns from Sainsbury before Christmas. Very nice!
