New Additions To My Family

A few days before Christmas, my son and I had visited our local Tesco. When we made our way to the checkouts, I noticed a collection of adorable-looking Cavapoo plushies. There was no way I could possibly leave the store without rescuing one of them. Although my son is more of a teddy bear rescuer, he too found it impossible to ignore the irresistible charm of the Cavapoo plushies.

During recent days, we have enjoyed using our sense of imagination to create a fantasy world. In the fantasy world, our Cavapoos are real dogs with personalities, and they get up to all sorts of antics. For example, my son's Cavapoo has been suffering with a particularly itchy ear, but his hind legs aren't quite long enough to enable him to have a good old scratch. However, he had discovered that if he rubbed his ear against my son's facial hair, it helped to relieve the itching. Well, it did until my son had a shave a couple of days ago, which resulted in his Cavapoo being thoroughly unimpressed. We quickly learnt that using our fingers to scratch his itchy ear was a poor substitute, even though there are no complaints when we use our fingers to scratch his tummy. Dogs will be dogs!

Although the two Cavapoo plushies are identical, my son's Cavapoo looks full of mischief, which is how we are able to tell them apart. Very much an adorable rascal, and he knows it.

If there is a point I am trying to make, then it is that one is never too old to indulge in harmless childlike fantasy.
