Does anyone want to talk about outer space?
What's your favourite fact about space? Do you believe in aliens? Have you seen Star Trek the Next Generation? I just finished watching the series on Netflix and really wish space travel like that existed. Not in my lifetime I don't think.
Speaking of aliens have you ever read Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Däniken? Really fascinating book that puts a different complex on aliens.
I have watched every series of 'Ancient Aliens' on tv and find a lot of the theory convincing but then some is so much of a leap it looks improbable.
Logic says we are not alone in the vastness of space and to think this planet is the only life is a very arrogant assumption.
I have not watched the series but...
Logic says we are not alone in the vastness of space
...just wanted to add, will we be able to recognise other life when we see it? Or will it be so strange that we disregard it as incomprehensible to us!
destroyed their whole planet.
I haven't read that one (though Sci Fi is one of the main things I read). Yes, you can see this happening in real life, it's the rich investors doing space now, so there are no morals. They would just see a planet, think there was no life there, and mine it for wealth.
Stanislav Lem wrote a novel, where the aliens looked like spongs (they were intelligent) but humans thought there was noone intelligent and destroyed their whole planet.
