Does anyone want to talk about outer space?
It's a bit of a big topic and a bit out there too, lol.
Sorry I couldn't resist that, I dont' know enough about it to be able to talk about, I like looking at the sky when its clear though.
The brightest star in the night sky is called Sirius. It is 8.6 light years away, 56 billion kilometres.
If you see a really bright star, that’s probably Venus, which many people (also famously Richard Nixon) mistake for a star.
It's great fun when you manage to see the international space station!
Holyhead. Is that a brothel for all of the priests in England?
Its better here than in cities but we have loads of light polution from towns along the coast and the port at Holyhead.
We have fairly dark skies in the southern uplands, but I know there are areas that are darker, like Skye and there's a Galloway national dark skies park too. I bet that must be breathtaking!
I wave at it if I see it.
I can recognise some stars and planets.
Have you ever been to somewhere with really dark skies? When I used to live on Skye, I'd see all sort of weird stuff whizzing about.
