Advent begins!

It’s that time of year again! Advent has begun! Christmas is coming, the decorations and lights are all thinking away and everything has gone all cozy! 

Anyone else excited for Christmas? What’s on your Christmas list? How will you spend Christmas? 

For me I get a little mini Christmas as my birthday is during advent so when I get my presents I put them under the tree as well.

  • I love the planning - I add something or buy something every few days, culminating in lifting my tree from its outside pot and decorating it. I read all Charles Dickens Christmas books (I have a lovely facsimile illustrated version) - finishing with 'A Christmas Carol' on Christmas Eve, day and Boxing Day. I've bought 2 new art books - Anthony Gormley and Turner's early drawings. I'll also watch my Morse and Sherlock Holmes [Jeremy Brett version] DVD's. Eat and drink of course, having cooked everything beforehand and put it in the freezer.

    I love Sherlock Holmes. I like the black and white films with Basil Rsthbone in.

    I went to a Unitarian church yesterday for the first time. They are doing a reading of a Christmas Carol on Thursday evening. I am very tempted to go but it's in the city at night and I'd have to catch a tram home. I'm going to think about it...
