To any gamers out there - what's the hardest game you've played/beaten?

Honestly, this is a tough one for me because there's so many ways a game can be hard. I think it's either both Devil May Cry or Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die mode, or MegaMan X6 or any of the MegaMan Zero titles.

I think I should also mention Five Nights At Freddy's games, not because the actual difficulty is an obstacle, but rather they're just so scary that picking up and playing them is difficult lol!

  • The controls/camera combo on Sunshine made the whole game really hard, but I still loved the sunny up-beat feel.

I really loved both Galaxy games. Getting all stars was hard, was really pleased when I got a particular one where the whole level was one-use blocks, and one red coin required jumping off the edge, getting the red coin spin jumping back up onto a ledge 90degress from the one you jumped off and keep running. That whole level was specific jumps and keeping moving, was beauty to get it right!

  • get to 1st place on Mario kart and then a blue shell just so happens to come

We call this getting Mario Karted in our house. It's now a verb!

  • Omg that sounds so infuriating! I’ve never played mega man but I think they are on the NSO things so I might have a little play. Another thing I find annoying is when it takes me forever to get to 1st place on Mario kart and then a blue shell just so happens to come and I lose the race. It’s worse when I don’t like the characters

  • every classic MegaMan game is like that for me. With the spinoffs like X, Zero and ZX, you can rely on wall jumping to save you if you miss a platform, but MegaMan classic? Nope! If you're one pixel off, you're plummeting to your death!! It's infuriating, but it feels great when you succeed!

  • The 3D Marios are always hard to 100% lol ESPECIALLY Sunshine!! (that leaf boat segment is the bane of my existence!)

  • Blue Prince. It's mostly skill, logic and puzzle solving. But there's an element of luck to it too which makes the game both interesting and infuriating! I spent a couple of months playing everyday but unfortunately haven't had the time to continue. If I ever pick it up again I think I'd have to start over because I'll have forgotten some of the clues/codes etc

  • Console game would be Ikuruga, fast paced shoot 'em up from my GameCube days, which I now can see as basically visual stimming turned up to 11.

For indy game VVVVVV. I tried so hard to do the Vini Vidi Vici sequence which requires about 8 screens of pure muscle memory, but I never did conquer. Came oh so close.

And I never did beat Ganon on Minish Cap, but that was more frustration at having to run up a long corridor from the previous save point past one enemy before the boss each time.

And the train level on Goldeneye. At the time anxiety always best me and I used all the laser up before I could escape the train before time ran out, it wasn't even meant to be the hard bit, but was for my panic.

  • Ahh ok, I know the feeling of gruelling experiences but omg when you do succeed it is honestly such an amazing feeling! Like when I got that break down road final challenge moon on Mario odyssey!

  • Darksouls 1 remastered a painful and grueling experience but also very rewarding

  • Ahh I must admit I only really play the family friendly games. I will say that Simpsons hit and run was hard when I was little though, especially when going for 100%, had to retry those missions I had skipped and you can’t even skip the last 3 missions which were so stressful at the time. So it was an achievement just completing the game in general.

Again, going on a 100% basis, Mario odyssey was hard in that respect. I mean that jump rope challenge I have to use a glitch and cheat for that (highest count was like 70 though) and I also struggle with the sinking colossal ruins and Yoshi on the sinking island power moons but I manage to get them. The worst power moon for me was breakdown road final challenge. You have to hop from one block to another with perfect long jumps, if you miss the jump, you lose ten coins and retry. Took me over 30 attempts but when I went back on another play through it took me like five lol!
