4 year wait in Scotland for kids to get tested for autism/ADHD

A rather dissapointing showing from Scotlands NHS system where the wait for even children to get a neurodiversity test is 4 years:

Experts have warned it will take four years to clear a 42,000 NHS backlog of children awaiting neurodiversity assessments.

I wonder what the wait time and volume of patient is for adults.

  • And thats just for the kids.

For adults you have very little to no chance unless you can pay privately.

Guidance seems to be from NHS Scotland that a private diagnosis will be accepted as if it was an NHS one.

Its a disgrace that people can't get tested whilst there is the everlasting merry-go-round of new levels of management who cannot make a decision without referring to higher up.

I have come across so called 'directors' who do not even know how to apply the EQA and have said that a diagnosis is essential to have a 'protected characteristic' under the EQA.

    Jesus wept!
