Mine is Nigel Slater - his 'Simple Suppers' is very down to earth. The best episode was when he put in far too much chilli and his eyes were watering. He simply commented [not verbatim], 'that was a bit hot.' You could almost hear the TV crew laughing.
I used to like Nigel Slater, he was very calming to watch and I did try quite a few of his recipes because they were simple.
