Pip assessment

I had my telephone pip assessment this morning.

It went badly, so no extra money.

One unusual feature that others should be aware of, is that from some of the things they asked me, it was obvious that they had access to my previous pip assessment that I did over six years ago.

They promised me a decision in around eight weeks.

  • Try not to lose hope - wait until you hear from them as you never know. Are all PIP renewals done over the phone now - or did you request that? My son is due to face his renewal next year and we are dreading it. How long before your award ran out did they contact you? Any info you can share would be really appreciated - as we find it all so intimidating. I hope it turns out better than you expected.

  • This was a new pip application.  I was surprised it was by phone.  Last time I applied over six years ago, I received zero points.

Since then my physical and mental health has declined.

At the end of the phone call she double checked some facts about me that I didn't mention in this application, but were spoken about six years ago at a face to face meeting.  The only way she could have known is if she had access to the old six year old report.
