Parent asking for support

Hi everybody,

My name is Pedro and I just registered in the forum,

I have a son 26 years old, graduated in philosophy in Cardiff University who lives in South Devon with his mother, even divorced for almost 20 years and living in different countries we both have an excellent relationship specially concerning our son, she is doing the best human possible to help him since he was  diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome few years ago.

The last 2 years his situation has worsened, after many contacts he gave me the impression that would be helpful if I moved to UK.

As a worried father which wants to help his son I am ready to move to England, the only problem is that I do not have enough to live until I find a job, so I decided to ask the members of the community if with the data below they could help me to get a job.

I am 59 years old, College Graduated 1975

Speak fluently: Portuguese, Greek, Italian and Spanish

Well: German

Fair : French

Work with all MS-office programs, internet

My driving license is up to 3.5 k kilos vehicles

Any job will be accepted !!!! if close to South Devon ( Kingsbridge)

Thank’s in advance for any tips you can give me

looking forward to hearing from you soon,

regards,

Pedro

  • Dear recombinantsocks,

The biggest difficuty in  my age is to find a willing bussiness to hire you,

I posted in this specific forum because all of us have similar situations concerning

ourself or people we love and I believe if someone of us has the contacts or  own bussiness he will be willing to help as I would without take in concideration the age,

I am looking for any kind of oportunity that shows up, does not matter the sector if I have the qualifications needed for the job, the only what matter is the job to be located as close as possible to KingsBridge ( South Devon)

    Regards Smile

i expect you may find an agency in Spain that will introduce you to a job in UK. Otherwise a lot of jobs, in hospitality, are obtained by turning up and introducing yourself in person. It might help if you have some copies of your CV or get some business cards printed. If you are smart and obviously eager to work and you can demonstrate your language skills you might taken on for a trial if the hotel or restaurant have vacancies. I'm not sure if this forum is a good place to find any more specific advice - i doubt that many of us work in the catering or hotel trades.

    :-)

  • Dear recombinantsocks,

Thank's a lot for your post,

hospitality industry would be great, I use to own a Tourist Office in Greece

for many years, the recession closed many bussiness, the same happen with

    mine.

I fell quite confortablie with traveling people and understand their need.

I would love to have the opportunity if someone  give me the chance,

due my age not many bussiness would consider seriously to try my abilities.

I would accept interview for any job, in any position I can fullfill with my knowledges.

    Thank's again buddy
