socialistworker.co.uk/.../I wont stop campaigning - Talha Ahsans brother Hamja speaks out

The charges related to a website Talha helped run a PO box for in 2001 for around five months.

The statements made outside the court expose how critical the British state was in creating the case against Babar and Talha.

  • I was going to keep quiet about Talha Ahsan being granted his freedom on the NAS forum but seen as you have mentioned it I will add in my piece.

A celebration party held was held during a next meeting at my local AS support group but - as I have previously stated – Talha Ahsan is still remains pretty much a persona non grata at my local branch of the NAS. His freedom has been mentioned but it failed to arouse much interest from anybody. There were even some bewilderment and dismay from a handful of parents and officials who expected that Talha would be locked away in a high security jail for a very long time.

The outcome is a slap in the face for Theresa May because the Al Qaeda link was proven to be bogus and many of the allegations made by the Home Office and British government were completely false from the outset. Talha was barely guilty of anything and the matter could have quite easily been sorted out back in Britain in 2006 if he was allowed to stand trial here. The entire extradition case is a gigantic *** up of justice.

Read a summary of what happened at the Asperger Home education website or the brilliant article in CounterPunch aptly titled The Terrorist that Wasn't.

I am wondering what Mark Lever thinks of Talha being granted his freedom but – assuming he is even aware of it – I doubt that he will pass any comments outside of his own private circles. Gary McKinnon was used as the NAS's poster child but watch the video of the Full Gary McKinnon Press Conference 2012 and notice the blank expression on Mark Lever's face at 19:49 when Talha Ahsan is mentioned.
