Friends for my 18 year old son

Hi I am the father of an 18 year old autistic young man. He is at a special school that he loves and proud of his autism. He is relatively independent - travels around on trains (that he loves) - and very sociable. But he really wants to make friends and meet people. His school is small and he has friends there but they often stay at home at weekends. Does anyone know of clubs or anything like that where he can meet people?

  • Hi Matthew, hell I remember when I was your son's age 18. I am now a 25 year old man. But yeh I'll say this. I had friends at 18 but we were up to no good. Smoking and drinking all the time. I have had many friends throughout the years. Only one has stayed consistent among them all. Just shows one real friend is better than a hundred fake ones. But no I don't know any clubs sorry. Hopefully your son finds the right friends.
