Perils of changing a duvet cover

My heart sinks every time I change a duvet cover. I swear duvets have malicious AI inside, with instructions to turn inside out, the wrong way around or bunch in one corner. I tried approaching the duvet with caution, cover inside out, then quickly 'flip' it over. Then I discover the long side is on the short side.. Any one have insider information?

  • Mine is a super king-size and is a bit of a stretch to do single-handed,it's slightly wider than it is tall so it's easy to start at the wrong side.

I find the easiest way is to turn the cover inside out, shove your hands all the way to the top corners and then grap the duvet with those corners, then lift and shake the cover down your arms and quilt. Once it's far enough you can let go and just tug the cover the rest of the way and fasten it up. Then give the whole thing a good shake.
