Ramdon act of kindness (RAK)

Yesterday an unexpected person I know called around.*

The regular community magazine deliver had a problem. I'd replied what sort of problem? The person explained that her daughter and 4 grandchildren are coming to stay with them (short notice); asked me if I could deliver the 10 community magazines on Friday. I said yes as did it several times.

Also got a food delivery coming between 1pm and 2pm. I usually help a family member to sort it out. Have to work around the problem.

Yesterday I thought needed cloning by one to deliver the community magazines and one to help with the community magazine. Lol.

*Ages ago I was out and wasn't back until late. Family member said that my friend missed her train, decided to pop round to see if I was in and thought I was out for the day. Thats the problem with people moving back to my area (they think your available 24/7);

  • Hi

Thank you for this post and your kind and generous spirit. (◍•ᴗ•◍)Heart

It does make me wonder if autistic people are more considerate of other people's feelings.?

  • I love the CS Lewis quote!!

And couldn't agree with it more.

  • I would believe how much the small things make all the difference because I have been on the receiving end of such RAK.!!

Thank you for being brave and thinking about your fellow man.

Sometimes these RAK are the things that enable us to keep going.

    You are creating lovely ripples.

  • Families and Boundaries don't go together. Though, thankfully, my relatives don't pester me; much. If I need them, I'll make the contact.

Good that you're being of service. I've learned that simply trying to 'Find Work' no longer cuts the Mustard. The focus is to do things which satisfy you, rather than keep on the Hamster wheel. Like whenever I sort out a friend, who's an Artist, for his medication; and appointments.

'Humility isn't thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less.' (CS Lewis)

  • That what I like about my community is to help each other out. I like to go into a shop for information about things in general. People say good morning to me.

Also I donate to the food bank, community fridge and table at the community hub.

Occasionally I go to a group and recently painted a pumpkin tea light. I'd filled mine with Halloween pumpkin choc balls. Some people did too much and the group liked mine (less is more); what sort of group you go to?

  • WOW! This is amazing stuff. I love random acts of kindness. Do you know how much potential humanity actually has? Humans are complex but also have such potential to change everything and make eachother happy. How exciting is this. I was at a group of mostly autistic people on Monday and everyone was talking and having a good time except one guy who was sitting all by himself drawing pictures of demonic entities. My heart would allow it I went up to him and moved a chair to him and had a conversation with him when no one else would do it. His face lit up like a light bulb and it actually made my whole day! Sewing how I included him and made him smile really cheered me up. You wouldn't believe how the small things make all the difference.
