Wanted to make more friends who like reading and are autistic.

Me and some friends like reading and we made a discord chat for anyone who also likes to read!

We discuss any books. So far people have said they like to read classics, sci-fi, fantasy and crime.

We will discuss other topics like anime and general chat.

This is a discord chat for neurodiverse adults in the UK.

  • Whats discord?

I read loads of crime fiction, I used to read a lot of fantasy too, but went off it a bit as it all seemed to get a bit samey. I've read a bit of sci-fi, but not a great deal, most of it dosent' quite hit the spot for me, except Iain Banks, Culture series. I can't do anime, manga or mainstream stuff.

I read lots of non fiction, mostly medieval history, religion and spirituality, some pre=history too.

  • Discord is a messaging platform.

It is similar to this forum in that you type-in a message and press send / reply. But the interface is a bit more complex.

You can register at discord.com, then press the link that the original poster shared, and it takes you to the chat room.

It is also possible to download Discord and use as a native app (just like, say, Paint or Office etc.) instead of using it from the website.

I don't use it, but a lot of people find it useful and fun. (Like everything on the internet, we need to watch out for scammers, bullies etc.)
