Slow forum

Will the forum go back to normal again?

It's running slow for me today and I'm getting an orange banner saying an error occurred.

I've just had another look at the time taken and during the test I carried out the file that took much longer to load than anything else (5 seconds) was:

As this is server side scripting it could be that the computer that the website is running on is a bit slow. - the slowest time for the google tag manager was 0.1 second so a bit slow in computer terms, but it doesn't appear to be the main issue.

I've just had an orange error message too

This site was running particularly slowly yesterday evening, with lots of error messages appearing.

I have just sent an email to the Community Manager about this concern. It would be good to know why it is happening and if it can be fixed easily.

I had that about a couple of hours ago. Now it is back to normal.

I had a look at an website analysis program and it shows that the main page is about 1MB in size (huge for a webpage with almost no graphics) and 1/4 of that is from a google tag manager website.

I have noticed in the past that websites that have to download data from google when loading sometimes load very slowly.

I suspect that without a re-write of the website and removing all references to google the speed problem won't be fixable.

I have a 1200 Mb/s hard wired connection to the internet and this is the only website running slowly, so it must be the server the website is hosted on.

I noticed it too, but in my case it's not just this site but my pooter too.

I didn’t understand what you meant be ‘convos’ (conversation) until I looked it up.

Two orange boxes have flashed up on the top right hand of my screen, “An error occurred …”.

my convos? ouch but jokes aside i noticed refreshing sometimes it takes like 2 mins, kinda laggy / buggie - or maybe there getting more viewers then expect and sever overload, i remember this feeling back in my days of playing MMORPGS on lunch dates or updates super laggy! or taking 10 mins for desktop to load up, make a cuppa drank it desk is loading now second cuppa to open a application haha

It’s not just you. I was about to ask the same thing. 

Even if I can get an original post of a thread to load, the replies and comments are also slow to appear.
