Trump on autism

The Guardian is reporting that Trump has just teased that he will be making an important announcement on autism tomorrow (quite how this was relevant in the middle of a eulogy for Charlie Kirk is not clear but that’s the Great Orange Blimp for you). Looks like we can expect mums taking paracetamol during pregnancy to be blamed and folinic acid to be touted as a cure.

  • Wow I thought Kier Strarmer was bad. But he’s nothing compared to trump. Why can’t people just respect others and just accept that we are all different. It’s not as if we were all made via a genesis chamber. Though I think I’d rather have general zod as a ruler compared to trump. I will be asking my mum how many times she took paracetamol 26 years ago. All I know is I was born early due to her complications but that’s why I was born early because she needed medication. Is being born earlier than due date a cause of autism or adhd?

  • I think Starmer has ***ed up a number of initiatives and decisions but is not intrinsically an evil person. I think that Trump is  intrinsically stupid, mendacious, immoral and manipulative and I think that stacks up to being downright evil.

  • I agree with the NHS and Palestine. But as you say there does need to be more recognition for trans rights and elderly. I do think care homes need to be more “caring” as I’ve heard a lot of bad stories from those places and watching the episode of one foot in the grave doesn’t help. There again whenever my mum has been to hospitals there have been very elderly people she has said that they are being cared for very well but they just can’t seem to move and seem to have lost all functions and have no quality of life due to their physical conditions. I do think the NHS should invest into mental health more though and I do hope the nurses and drs stop going on strike for better pay, I mean don’t they get enough as it is?

  • Wow, I honestly didn’t know that, if they were allowed to call other politicians liars then well that would be an interesting new story I guess

  • Yeah I agree, Starmer isn’t as evil and I guess there have been worse politicians in the past, but there are like articles (probably gossip) about how he is apparently the worst PM in not just UK, but world history. I mean I don’t really understand politics so I can’t really say I can understand what’s happening at the moment, I try and avoid the news.

I defo agree that Trump is much worse and is a purely horrible narcissistic person who just speaks his mind but doesn’t go about it in a subtle manner. He has no right to say about autism and the causes of it and I’d expect better from a world leader. I mean he needs to look in the mirror and see who he really is, I mean not to mention how he looks like he’s come from a cheap Liverpool spray tan shop. I’ve seen actual oranges that don’t look as tangoed

  • I agree. I get angry at him frequently, but from all possible worlds, he is far from the worst.

I think we should aim for incremental improvements and not for random guess that maybe the opposite is great (looking at you US.)

The most positive for me so far is a measurable improvement in the NHS and the recognition of Palestine.

But trans rights and care for the disabled and elderly are still too bad I think.

But we could have pro genoc*de and pro-defunding NHS. In fact, that is at the doorstep.

  • I'd seen the word several times before and knew I'd previously learned what it meant, but I couldn't recall its meaning when I wanted to. It seems to be a thing of mine. I like learning new words, but then I forget what they mean within about an hour. There's even a word for that:

lethologica (n): the inability to remember a particular word or name.

  • Politicians use the word mendacious in parliament as parliamentary rules say they shouldn't call other politicians liars.

  • You forgot "narcissistic".

(I had to look up "mendacious".)
