General chat about not a lot thread

I think I saw Melania Trump smile properly for the irst time ever to day, she was with Catherine visiting some scouts, had one small child on her lap and was playing with others, I've never seen her look so human.

I wish this site wouldn't decide it's randomly going to sign me out and that when it does my cursor would work properly and not stay stuck, it never matters what mouse I use, it always does it to annoy me.

I had an oddity the other day, I was coming in from outside and realised a draft was blowing under my toes, I looked down and I had a hole in the toe of my slippers!

  • Okay, just looked up Clive Barrett’s Ancient Egyptian Tarot and found an image of The Moon. That is really awesome. I especially like the jackals in place of dogs.

  • Yes my tarot collection is my pride and joy it’s a billy bookcase full of sealed tarot decks, takes me weeks to organise and get just right, Im quite spiritual so I do daily affirmations with oracle decks which I also collect

i have a inner arm tattoo of one of my fav tarot cards the moon card from rhe out of print deck the ancient  Egyptian tarot by Clive Barrett

Ostara tarot is beautiful, how do you find it reads for you’re self

  • Oh oh! I just read on your profile that you have 300 sealed tarot decks! That’s super cool and impressive. I have one physical deck (Monsoon Tarot) and one digital deck (Ostara Tarot). I don’t really believe that Tarot has spiritual power, but I really adore Tarot from a psychoanalytical perspective. I believe our interpretations of the cards can reveal a lot about how you are feeling in the moment. I wonder if we could somehow do readings here on this forum lol

  • Well what can I say I have many talents lol I can relate to the tablet and treadmill co ordination, having dyspraxia means at any given moment I will fly off that treadmill JoyJoyJoy

  • Cycling AND writing on a forum at the same time? Now that’s talent lol

I’ve tried doing work on my tablet and walking on a treadmill at the same time but I just lack the coordination to make it happen.

  • Currently at the gym indoor cycling, tried a new food the other day hot honey mozzarella sticks very nice. I have my crochet knit duck in my backpack

  • My grandmother in her own witty way would say: "winter draw(er)s on." :-)

  • The tomatoes didn't need tying.  They need picking.  The time of year when mould can quickly corrupt and I haven't enough get up and go to preserve things (nor the space in the freezer).  Maybe next year I will be better organised.

My dogs had a nice trot around our local park - getting old, and the dogs are too...  Time to appreciate such things more.

  • Hmm... Trump prostate exam - I suspect the proctologist may have had trouble booking a free slot

  • What a strange world, but yes these things are connected if only by me and those who read the thread.

The tmeperature has dropped 7.C since tis morning, I thought that when the temperature dropped it would be because the wind was blowing from the north and wouild blow the rain away

  • I found myself thinking is there a world where all these things are connected?  Then realised yes, it's yours  Oh, and now mine and others reading this!  String theory in action maybe...  I have a theory about string - that it is lots of small fibres brought together in such a fashion that a longer one that may be useful for bringing other things together.  Like tying tomatoes up in the greeenhouse - which reminds me praps I should go and do that...

  • My wandering cat came back last night. Boris always wanders off for a couple of days or even months, he was gone for about 10 days this time, came home wet and starving, demanding food and milk. We don't know where he goes, but he comes back seemingly well fed.

  • Just had a great thing happen at work. I have a client who is nearly nonverbal, and he works in a busy, noisy kitchen. His coworkers have noted that they love him, but they’re afraid that they’re going to hurt him going through a doorway or something since he’s as silent as a ninja. I’ve been wracking my brain on this puzzle for a while, but I think today I found the solution: A bicycle bell. I gifted it to him today and he LOVED ringing it to let his coworkers know where he’s at. And his coworkers were really supportive of it as well.

I feel really great about it because break-throughs like this are pretty rare.

  • I've got a pair of old fashioned granny bootee slippers that I like because they keep my ankles warm, the ones with an hole in are slip on mule style ones. I shall ask for some more for xmas. I hope that the place were I go my winter boots from will reduce the same style ones in time for my birthday, I mean purple winter boots, whats not to love!

Fearn's not happy today, it's to wet for her to want to go out and it's all my fault, of course, I mena I can make it light when it's dark and warm when it's cold, why can't I make it dry when it's wet?

  • We have loads of small flies/midges in our flat at the moment - it's so annoying. I looked on the internet and found a recommendation to put cider vinegar in a small bowl/container with a little washing up liquid - the idea is that they're attracted to the cider vinegar, but the soap in the liquid breaks.the surface tension and traps them. We only had malt vinegar, so we put that in an empty sweet corn can and added a little plum & pomegranate washing up liquid and so far it's attracted loads of them. Only two "dead in the water" so far, but lots crawling on the can instead of flying around my head or crawling on things I don't want them on such as drinks glasses.

Talking about slippers, mine were getting very worn so I bought some nice new furry ones from Primark the other day - very comfy and warm.

Maybe Donald got some worrying results after his last prostate exam?

  • So our last greyhound was not very happy that we had kids and actually nipped at our child with Autism because she didn’t understand his boundaries. Even if I would want another greyhound, my wife has reservations about the breed now.

When we’re empty nesters, we’ll move to a farm and adopt a boatload of greyhounds lol

  • Why are greyhounds off the table? Both of mine were good with children and my lurcher loves children, especially little girls. Good luck with the car hunt, I'm afraid I can't help with you being in the US.

  • We’re looking for a car I can drive right now, but we don’t have a huge load of money to spend on it. So I’m looking at really old cars with a lot of mileage. Hopefully I can get my hands on a Lincoln, those cars are super roomy and comfortable, but the price point is probably going to make that impossible.

My wife and I have been seriously talking about getting a new dog (or two). We think our daughters can handle it now, as long as it is a breed that works well with children (so greyhounds are off the table, unfortunately :( ). We’re thinking a Bernese and/or a golden retriever. It might have to wait until next summer, though, when my wife and kids are free from work/school.

I like the idea of a thread where we just converse without a definite goal in mind.
