New to Sims 4

Ok so I have started playing the sims 4 recently and I’m really enjoying it and I was considering getting some expansion packs in time but I was just wondering if I did purchase would I be able to keep those purchases for if I ever swap to another laptop.

I have a windows laptop and I had to download the EA app in order to download the sims 4. I had signed into my EA account and then I downloaded the sims 4 and when I opened the sims 4 it welcomes me with my EA username and profile pic. Basically what I’m wanting to ask is if I were to purchase any expansion packs, will those purchases be linked to my EA account and therefore carry over if I were to load the app on another windows laptop? Or would those purchases only be tied to the current laptop I have? Also if I were to get an Xbox or ps4 or whatever would those purchases carry to those consoles?

Sorry for the stupid questions say I’m not as familiar with EA compared to Nintendo. Thank you in advance!

  • Ahh ok thank you for letting me know! I don’t know who owns which console these days lol. Say I only play the ps2 for hit and run and omg my graphics are so bad compared to the Xbox or pc versions lol! As long as I can keep my purchases haha! I’ll have to see the first sims now see how they compare! It’s amazing how games evolve over time!

  • Ok thank you for letting me know! I don’t have an Xbox but I was looking into them as they have Simpsons hit and run for Xbox but I don’t know if the latest versions can play older games. Apparently I can’t play ps2 games on any other ps console but with Nintendo I’m able to play Wii games on the Wii u, switch games on the switch 2 etc. funny how some companies have backwards compatibility and others don’t!

  • Ah ok thank you for replying! Say I only have the EA account because of Simpsons tapped out which closed down earlier this yearSob rip my Springfield

  • Nothing beats the original sims for nostalgia! Was around 17 when I first played it. Sometimes I listen to the build mode music and it takes me back. I think as long as you sign into the same EA account you’ll be able to download them to any other laptop or pc but I wouldn’t imagine the same would apply to the PlayStation versions otherwise you’d be getting the PlayStation versions for free and Sony loses money so I doubt it works that way. I’m a fan of command and conquer so I also bought those from the EA site a while back.

  • Not stupid questions.

I originally played Sims 4 on a PC. When I got rid of it and bought an XBox I had to start again, any saved games and purchased packs don't go over onto a console. It's like you cannot play PS5 games on Xbox.

But if you buy a new laptop you should still be able to access everything.

  • I’ve never played it or used EA’s app, BUT I’d be surprised if those purchases were not attached to your account.
