What are your special interests?

I really love learning about other peoples hyperfixations/special interests and - although I struggle to show it - get so happy and excited when someone shares theirs with me. It's probably one of the only things I like more than my own special interest tbh... I love it even more when someone feels comfortable enough to not only tell me what theirs is, but also tell me every detail about it. Even if I have no idea what any of it means, I still love listening.

I'm rambling so I'll just get to the point; I'm curious about everyone here. I had a *** night and this is the first thing that came to mind to make me feel better so I'd love it if someone would be willing to indulge...

  • This sounds really sinister, but murder. True crime documentaries, murder mystery drama, the only fiction books I can really get stuck into are murder mysteries. I don't glorify it, I don't idolise killers, but I just find it fascinating to learn what happened, to see how the investigations progressed etc. Also, it ties in to another special interest of mine... psychology. That has been a pretty solid interest of mine over the years. I love music and tv and films. I tend to be a flitter aside from these though. I get really deeply into things for a few weeks, months or maybe a year or two and then I move on. The most annoying thing for me is I get really into something, but I can't retain a lot of information so I'm not able to reel off the ins and outs of things like some can.

  • SAME!!! It's SO fascinating, isn't it! I love learning the psychology and methods (I just like learning all the details, I have no intention of ever doing any of it dw) of the serial killers... a really good true crime podcast is "Over the Fence: True Crime Podcast"
