What are your special interests?

I really love learning about other peoples hyperfixations/special interests and - although I struggle to show it - get so happy and excited when someone shares theirs with me. It's probably one of the only things I like more than my own special interest tbh... I love it even more when someone feels comfortable enough to not only tell me what theirs is, but also tell me every detail about it. Even if I have no idea what any of it means, I still love listening.

I'm rambling so I'll just get to the point; I'm curious about everyone here. I had a *** night and this is the first thing that came to mind to make me feel better so I'd love it if someone would be willing to indulge...

  • Just of late, somewhat by necessity, I have found myself with autism as a special interest.   I have rather taken the "learn as much as you can about it" advice after late diagnosis and can't stop now.

Before this I spent a lot of time exploring human movement and interactions from a "biopsychosocial" perspective and Taoist philosophy and arts.

I collect and build 1;72 scale plastic model aeroplanes.  I have made a special special interest in building models of each of the 45 fighter sqns of the US 8th air force - I'm over half way there :-)

Terry Pratchett books - had to read every new one.

As a child, butterflies and science

Facebook knows all this about me and pushes me links by the dozen.

This community has become one as well based on how much time I spend here.

My close family our dogs and a few close friends.

I roam thro' BBC podcasts while gardening and allotment work - hardly a special interest but it keeps me interested and active.

oh and cricket - if there's an England match on the radio I have to listen if I can.

Can elaborate, of course, if you want me to  :-)

  • I love science and anatomy but know almost nothing about the rest Sweat smile I would love to know more about it all, though
