Hi Ya All, needing some advice.
My son has had migraines and headaches all his life and he's still only a teenager, but in recent years they've gone into overdrive.
At the moment he's under a Neurologist and awaiting an MRI as he's having severe migraines 3-4 times a week on average. It's interferring with everyday living and his college studies and to watch him sit a sob is heartbreaking.
Naturally, these are completely dibilitating. We think the episodes are largely stress induced as we have eliminated all the known food triggers, which also seem to bring on an attack.
The problem is he seems extrememly sensitive to these meds. He's been on beta blockers, which affect his balance, migraine preventors which render him unable to function (Unable to wake him, but no migraine.) and now he's been prescribed anti epilepsy drugs!
He also takes anti sickness medication to control the vomitting and is currently over using his relievers at 12 per month (max 8 per month) in an effort to get some relief.
We've been trying to get him to recognize anxiety triggers, but as he has ASD, pretty much every waking moment can be anxiety provoking for him.
Does anyone out there have a similar experience with migraines or has anyone had any luck with complimentary/alternative medicines etc
I'm desparate to make a difference for him, but i'm unsure what to do for the best!
Many Thanks
