Who are you like?

All my life I've been told I remind people of others, often fictional, I was asked by a couple of people if author David Eddings, had met me and based his character from the Belgariad, Polgara on me. I've been told that I'm very like the character Gemma from Sons of Anarchy too, I did have to reassure my daughter in law I wouldn't stab her in the head with a BBQ fork, lol.

Who have you been identified with?

  • People have sometimes put weird names to me as well.

And personally, I used to feel like Gregor Samsa (Kafka), or the "Steppenwolf" (Hesse) or in "Notes from the Underground" (Dostoevsky). I have been told a few times to read those books, or Nietzche, because I would remind them of those books / characters / thinkers.

And I did feel some resemblance. But eventually, those characters became pathetic, vain, and too self-centred. Not inferior, but I didn't like these qualities, and self-pity.

These days, I am what I can be, authentic and transparent because it is simple, lost in thought because it feels natural. I forgot about earlier comparisons, I am not like these in the good parts, nor in the bad parts, but still odd in my own ways.

I think now people feel this as well, I am just and mostly like me. Changing substantially between one decade and the next.

Interesting question to think about, quite psychological. Thank you.
