Hi everyone,
As I have been going through a tricky time emotionally recently, I haven't shared the brilliant news that my best friend (and fellow Aspie) and I are due to receive a Diana Award (an award for young people set up in the name of Princess Diana following her death) in the anti-bullying category. We were nominated by our school for talking to groups of students about autism, mental health issues, bullying and tolerance, and how you can show support to individuals with disabilities/differences around school.
I was kind of overwhelmed at first - I didn't (I still don't!) feel we'd done anything to deserve an award; we're just really passionate about the fact that bullying is never, ever acceptable - but now it's sunk in, I'm just so so proud that the school have recognised our work and the message is getting out there!
This seems like a good opportunity to thank the community for their brilliant support; whenever I need you, you're here, and that means so much to me! Have a great week, everyone.
Lots of love,
LivAgain
