Mine is classic Mini cars from 1959 - 2000, especially MK1 Coopers and Works cars.

My Mum used to drive a Mini Cooper in the early 1960s. It was red, with a black roof, and I remember sitting in the back seat and sucking the front seat back. My mum learned to drive at Paddy Hopkirk’s Driving School in Belfast.

I would love to see your car restored to Cooper spec. The tartan red with black roof will look smart.

My mum often used to talk about her mini and how much she loved driving it and yes she did wish she had kept it. 

Your first car was pretty cool, especially given the CND number plate.

My first car was a white Renault 5 that had the gear stick mounted on the dash. It was underpowered but I thought it looked the part at the time.

I have a MK1 shell I want to restore to Cooper spec, the whole car is planned out in my head. I have chosen Tartan red with a black roof. Paddy was a lovely man, I was lucky enough to meet him on a couple of occasions.  A really good Mk1 Cooper can now fetch about £50,000, I bet you wish your mum had kept hers!

My first car was a MK1 850 Mini, Red with a black vinyl roof. The first part of the number plate was CND, I thought it was quite cool, the younger viewers most probably won’t remember the CND movement.
