Wildlife

I can't find the old chats so I am starting a new one. I would love to hear your stories too.

I kept finding my recently planted flower bed getting dug up, so I protected my remaining plants and we set up a wildlife camera which filmed two different foxes. After that we occasionally saw them in the day and I have made sure there is water available on the ground. One even left their dinner behind half buried, but fortunately returned for it the next night.

This morning my son sent a video he filmed earlier of 3 foxes including at least one cub.

Parents
  • I had a resident fox coming to my garden earlier in the year. Luckily he left my plants alone. Other than that we've got a lot of birds here and I keep getting sheep wandering in the garden due to the old fences of the nearby farm that the sheep keep getting through.

They help keep the grass down, so I can't complain Sweat smile

  • What a lovely garden you have Roy.

I used to get invaded by sheep, once one know's where a gap is they all know! I once had to chase them out whilst only wearing a silky nightie and dressing gown and a pair of wellingto boots! You can imagine the comments I got when I told people about this lol.

  • There is sheep in the field next to us, last week we had been out for the day, we noticed sheep droppings on the lawn, nobody has owned up yet. The electric fence works from a car battery, it occasionally goes flat. We have a pheasant that feeds from the bird table, my wife has named him Rodney, a female sometimes accompanies him, she has been named Cassandra.
