Wildlife

I can't find the old chats so I am starting a new one. I would love to hear your stories too.

I kept finding my recently planted flower bed getting dug up, so I protected my remaining plants and we set up a wildlife camera which filmed two different foxes. After that we occasionally saw them in the day and I have made sure there is water available on the ground. One even left their dinner behind half buried, but fortunately returned for it the next night.

This morning my son sent a video he filmed earlier of 3 foxes including at least one cub.

  • My Jack Russell disappears most nights into the orchard, he returns with a juvenile fox, at first I thought the fox would attack him, but they seem to be the best of friends. This has gone on since spring.
I’ve planted a small area with different lavenders I’m hoping to grow them on and then thin them out for other areas of the garden. The hope is to attract butterflies and to later keep bees.

Guess where I like to sit in the evening,? In the winter I’m going to remove some of the dead trees to open the view up. Some people think it’s me being introverted, I just think it’s peaceful.
