Unusually for me I'm doing alright, we do have a little breeze here which is helping and it's "only" 27.C, it should start getting cooler for us tomorrow and sunday, which will be very welcome. Fearn and I went to the beach this morning and had a paddle, neither of us swim, Fearn's a bit nervous about swimming as she's not really built for it, her paws are to narrow and I swim like a brick!
Aw man that’s terrible to hear. Maybe consider washing the curtains and ceiling, too. If there were anything linen in the house while they were working, I’d get them washed.
Will do. But even with the workers have gone I now have to deal with other new people who smoke now. I have a vent with a big hole under the sink so if I close the cupboard doors there the smoke just stores up and it stinks but the smoke seems to seep through the gaps of the doors as well so I have to put my air purifier there and that doesn’t even always work! So I have a neighbour who smokes outside the kitchen window but it’s worst for me because our flats are on the corner of the building so if you imagine an L shaped building well our kitchens are both on the insides of the L so the smoke comes directly at me. Also got people from another block who for some reason go to the back door exit of my block to smoke and of course it wafts up into my flat through that vent. Also we have people who live in a house next to our car park and they set fires to plants, grass, trees etc and omg the fire stinks so badly and it goes on for hours so when I’m unwell I can’t open my windows because of the smell and everything, it’s just so frustrating! I mean all my windows are locked and everything so is it that vent? Or do I need more draft excluders? Am I able to cover that vent? I mean I have an air purifier and extractor.
Completely unrelated I have been struggling so badly with BDD lately hence why I’ve not been on here as much but to make things worse the boy who lives next door has taken a real dislike to me for some reason and literally screams and cries whenever he sees me! He also keeps kicking my door and everything and throwing stuff at it. I can’t help the fact I look like Medusa or Hellen Gravely or whoever!
Ah ok will have a look into supermarkets for neutradol stuff. Say I have had to put my purifier in the kitchen and even put my extractor on full power so they are helping for the time being I guess but will try the neutradol. Was wanting to get more purifiers for my flat anyway and that one you mentioned sounds really cool with the lights and oils. Like I have a changing colour diffuser that looks like a firework pattern which I put my oils in, defo helps with sleep and omg I so needed it back in April when I had the dreaded flu!
Ahh ok thank you for that. I will look into that as they do it very often. When we lived down south our neighbours used to do that which was a pain when trying to dry the laundry or catch some sun. I mean I know bbqs can be quite bad but nothing compared to what I have had to put up with lately!
I think you can get neutradol stuff in supermarkets?
I've got an air purifier that has water in it and it swirlls it round, you can have lights on it too and you put essential oils in it to create the mood and the scents you want. I've had it in my bedroom when I've had a cold and used eucalyptus, tea tree and lavender to help me breathe and sleep. It came with some oils, but they were perfume oils which are different, more likely to be artificial than natural.
Burning rubbish/garden waste in a garden could count as a statutory nuisance and as such is something you could report to the local council:

As I mentioned to TheCatWoman (NAS92378 my mum has found some metal covering and strips to cover the vent over but can be easily removed so she will sort that for me soon. I recon people are burning fallen leaves or infected plants or grass but isn’t that what a recycle centre is for? People can be so inconsiderate and well I’ll just say it, selfish! Boils my blood!!
Yeah my windows are double glazed but I’m actually getting the kitchen ones replaced due to condensation being trapped inside. I mean the windows are all probably like over 60 years old anyway so maybe there’s a bit of an umm air leakage maybe?. I don’t know why there is a big hole in the vent underneath the sink, it was there when I moved in lol. My mum has found some magnetic cover to cover the vent up and of course some sticky back magnet tapes to go around the hole itself so hopefully that might help. I will look into the crystals too, I have one of those air fresheners that you peel the sticker off but like the lavender just mixes with the smoke so will try the crystals. Might need to invest in another air purifier anyway.
As for that boy next door, defo need to recommend an ASBO but omg why does he always have to cause a scene and make it obvious he hates me when he sees me? I mean I’ll be honest it grinds me down and I ended up crying badly before because of all the traumas of bullying annd things I’ve been told which have been super degrading and I’m suspected to have BDD. One diagnosis of letters after another. Sorry for the little rant there
