How do I help my daughter

I have a 17 year old daughter who I am 99% sure is autistic. She does not wish to be labelled so will not seek a diagnosis.

My problem is that she seems severely depressed and has severe anxiety stopping her from doing any kind of social thing. SHe will not leave the room.

as shes under 18 drs wont help and there is no way she will do talking therapies. Please help what do I do:-(

she won’t even open up to me. I know she’s really depressed but she won’t let me help

  • Sorry to hear - my daughter got Anxiety diagnosis same age.  To be honest advice and support from CAMHS was pretty thin and of no use, she's been in a much better place since she went to Uni  - which was a worry to us beforehand - but she seems to be coping much better there.

Do seek a diagnosis for Anxiety at the least - as it can help with deadlines at school

If you get assessed for ASD, there's no label + no requirement to tell anyone.  Likewise no requirement to have a formal diagnosis either.

But if she is interested in finding out more - then say look at you tube channels like I'm Autistic Now What
