Hi
After years of struggling to be heard, i've finally braved it and taken the bull by the horns. Months of preparation in even getting to the point of finding the right words and being assertive enough, not to be fobbed off (As i've felt before.)
Normally, when faced with authority i buckle, a melting mess rendered speachless when formally i'd been totally articulate, but today i stood my ground and said you know what, I hear what you are saying, but this isn't about your journey, it's about mine and i'd like to follow this path to it's conclusion.
Seems so simple doesn't it. Being assertive, asking for help, advice, guidence, opinion and yet also just being able to be heard about what you feel, think, want or need as opposed to following the path others want you to take. I'm older now, not a teenager or young adult and yet i've struggled all my life, to be heard.
A small victory in a long life of not being heard. I hope the first hurdle of a new direction. :)
