It's raining, but not pouring and I can't hear an old man snoring

Yes finally. The forecasted rain on Wednesday never came. No watering today, so that is good and the plants prefer rain. Hoping they finally shoot up higher. 

I'm glad to have cloudy days and a good splash of rain and some wind to clear the air.

I was hoping for rain, <1mm. Had 6 inches in Jan, a bit less in Feb, then it stopped. Been under an inch in 3 months. I'm in Hampshire.

We are discussing and debating the weather, this definitely does not  constitute small talk!

Some good rain overnight, should help the grass grow.  Shrubs look livelier.

We had a lot fall over night. I could hear it tapping against the glass on my bedroom window.

Not yet! Quite exciting that it might though! It’s felt so weird to have such a long period of dry sunny weather - not natural!  

I'm from Belfast, and yes had some rain today.

I use an app on my phone to remind me to water my plants. I find it really useful as before most of my plants were beginning to dry up and become unhealthy.

Perhaps it should be on a new thread! LOL

Oh no, you've strayed off of small talk about the weather and are now elaborating and telling us facts! 

(Only joking, I am if course interested in facts but when I elaborated on facts about the weather at work it was rather a conversation stopper!)

Ha ha! I was thinking the same but it is probably because the weather has been exceptionally dry and sunny. 

The concerning thing is that the sea temperatures around the UK and Ireland are around 2°C - 4°C higher than average. Marine biologists are concerned about the impact this will have on sea life.

We have has about two months of constant sunshine in N. Ireland, which I believe is more than in Southern England, and a new record for the most sunshine in spring time here has just been announced. This time last year, I think it was raining every day.

Same. I PANIC when outdoors or driving during a storm, but I’m calm and relaxed as can be when at home with a storm howling outside.

Had some yesterday here on the South Coast of England. Also yesterday evening we had a massive crash of thunder and then a heavy shower. I got excited as I like storms (so long as I'm indoors) but unfortunately the storm ended as soon as it began.

Rain started this afternoon about 3.00 pm in Northern Ireland. The garden has been crying out for water, the grass is parched because Ihad been watering only the beds. 

i would like it to bucket down with rain and then have more sunshine please!

Here in Germany it had also been very dry and it just recently started raining again. I‘m very relieved since the lack of moisture was rather concerning to watch.

Whenever I think of the UK I just imagine it always being rainy or cloudy lol.

We’ve been having a smattering of storms here in the Midwest for several weeks, which has been tough for farmers trying to plant. I think pretty much everyone other than me is hoping for dryer weather this week (I like storms)
