African/Caribbean/Black

Hi, I wanted to know if there were people on here from the above cultural background. I would also like to know, if anyone can advise me on any groups, specifically for Africans Caribbeans where you can connect with autistic people from simular backgrounds.

  • I am not from the cultural background.  However, across my career - I am pleased to have often worked with culturally diverse colleagues and I am aware of the below Zoom based group:

    https://ndconnection.co.uk/black-autistic-meetup

The next meetup, via Zoom, is on Monday 2nd June.

When connecting with groups via Zoom; it is worth first considering that, unlike on this community forum, you are choosing to step forward from anonymity.

If you are OK with that choice - that is fine.  I wouldn't want anyone to be enthusiastic (without first considering if the arrangement was suitable for their life's circumstances).

If you filter the blog area of the website via "Black Autistic" you can also quickly access a number of articles on intersectionality and other relevant aspects of experiencing life as an Autistic person who is also African / Caribbean / Black:

I have also found the resources library section to be comprehensive.
