How do you dress?

I've often made a few questionable choices with my clothes through the years and have often got it wrong. In the last year or so I've decided to go for comfort over conformity, and I've always been more attracted to bright colours rather than black, grey or beige and the muted tones that seem to be popular these days. I don't want to look like everyone else anymore.

My partner and I recently discovered a shop in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, and they sell all sorts of cool clothes. It's hippie style so there are patchwork trousers, harem pants, and loose shirts and t-shirts, printed designs etc. I absolutely love it and it's what I wear now. I'm happy to be the weird guy wearing the hat, assorted coloured clothes and sandals or barefoot shoes.

What's your style and what do you like wearing?

  • i feel so similarly , after so many years of masking and conforming to what everyone else dressed like , it felt like i lost my identity and didn’t really know my own personal style or things i like

one of my special interests and something i feel strongly about is environmental welfare and issues , so i love getting my clothes second hand or from sustainable sources ( lucy and yak is my personal favourite , super comfy / sensory friendly and really cute ! ) i don’t like being boxed into a ‘niche’ or ‘aesthetic’ so i just pick up pieces i like and it’s so much more freeing than conforming to everyone else

  • That is an excellent thing you have found a way to be and express yourself. Something that I have trouble doing due to fears of other people’s judgement.

I support buying second hand as there is so much fast fashion now
