Inside Our ADHD Minds. BBC2 9pm.

Following on from the previous series of Inside Our Autistic Minds is a new 2 parter called Inside Our ADHD Minds and Inside Our Dyslexic Minds.

The first part is on BBC2 tonight ( Monday) at 9pm, this episode looks into ADHD.  I think both parts can be streamed on the iplayer.

  • I have just watched the programme as my son has ADHD as well as autism and he cannot describe to us what it is like. I found it very helpful to get a better idea of what it feels like. His room looked so familiar. We have to do a lot to help him keep organised and guide him, but understanding how difficult it is to do so many things that we have got used to was an insight. I would recommend it to anyone living with someone with ADHD.

    The young man in the program is basically how my younger son functions. He’s 23 now and only just starting to accept that he has ADHD. He was expelled from school at 14 and has really struggled, school weren’t very helpful. Their answer was to always put him into isolation.
    The bedroom ‘floordrobe’ is exactly his room. I don’t know how many driving tests he’s had, he’s unable to concentrate long enough to pass, my wife and I would like him to be assessed for ADHD but he can be very volatile, I think the correct medication would really help him. I’m hoping he will watch the program with his partner.
