I saw one of these new electronic cleaners in Morrisons today !!
According to research online it’s a new automated cleaner. It drives round by itself and has sensors that alerts it of humans and objects in its way, so if you step in front of it it then stops and waits for you to go away. I know because I stood gawping at it this morning.
I feel bad for the cleaners, another job taken over by machine as my dad often says. That said in the past looking at the state of the floor the human cleaners left a lot to be desired…
I do worry if the sensors fail and if it malfunctions, what if it fails to stop and you get killed or gravely injured by it? At least a person would probably stop sweeping or mopping if they saw you approaching. Machines can only operate as they are programmed, if they fault then anything is possible.
This has at least explained why I was turned down as a cleaner at their store in 2023 
How could I compete with the awesomeness and swiftness of this cleaning machine???
In short – I could not.
