Personal shoppers

I havea vague memory of my Mum going to buy a new dress, I must have only been a toddler, but I asked her about it and she confirmed my memory, that you'd go into a shop and an assistant would ask you what you wanted and what size and they would select a few pieces for you to try. I wish shops still did this with a real human! I was just recomended some stuf by M&S and thought in what universe would I wear these things?

I'd love to go on one of those make over shows, I'd love to find out where they would find clothes to fit me, let alone if I liked them? I could see them having a fit when they looked through my existing clothes, at how few I have.

  • I would not be a fan, definitely don’t like being harassed by shop assistants. Just leave me alone.

in terms of make over shows, reminded me of that one where people guessed their age. Invariably people guessed at a lot older then they tried to take years off….

  • I doubt anyone would be able to find anything that fits me properly what ever the shop was. I was just intrigued by the idea of having people help you find clothes that would fit and suit you, I remember a shop in Lampeter that did this, 20 years ago.

I think some of the larger shops still do have people who will help you find things that fit and would suit, it could be a better option than rummaging around amoungst other shoppers and still not finding anything.

I'd just like somebody to tell me where to get clothes that are long enough, not in disgusting colours or fabrics and that suit me and my life style, I wouldn't need anything posh or fancy becuse my life style is mostly dog walking and gardening. I suppose I feel I missed out on a lot of girlie stuff when I was younger, I was told I was to big to be a proper girl and it's something I've wanted to explore for ages and never really known were to start.
