Piffed. of with the mods and community manager

Very much so.

I tried to post a link to a very useful article in the Telegraph.

This site won’t let people post links to national newspaper website’s….whilst I do do get it about monstrosities like Toktok Faceache and Instalookatme, I do feel theguardian.com should be accessible.

The article is behind a paywall so someone copied and pasted the text of the article.

One of the mods stepped in and deleted the copy of the text and threatened the kindly soul who posted the text with being banned for breach of rules.

As a result the article about autism was ignored and everyone focussed on the heavy handed behaviour of the mods. On top of which the conversation presentation on this site showing replies and replies and replies to replies meant that all thought on the actual article and what it implied for us with ASD was lost.

My entire life has been blighted by unrecognised ASD. It has cost me every job I ever had and my family relationships. People like me need to be able to communicate and be heard. We do NOT need to be treated like naughty schoolchildren to be put in the naughty step or excluded.

To be fair to the mods, the poster broke the law in posting copyright content without permission so a ban for repeating this seems the right approach.

Breaking the rules is one thing but breaking the law is a different situation. NAS would untimately be responsible if it remained so they had to take action.

Break the law and you will be treated as an adult.

Be smart and quote excerpts and summarise the article in your own words which will also get the word out.

  • I think if correctly attributed, put in quotation marks, says where it's from and who it's by then it should be OK, if it's good enough for an accademic essay then it should be good enough here, only the mods are so afraid that somebody might see something they don't like and will complain about. I do find it infantalising, I wish there was more o a space for adult to adult conversation without have to go through all this verbal gymnastics in case someone gets offended by the name of a bird.
