Packaging

Does anyone else get frustrated or even angry over packaging? Nothing seems to open or re seal properly, tear strips very often don’t work, the sticky bit on a new foil roll wastes loads of foil, re seals on rice bags don’t stick again. I could go on but why when so much effort goes into packaging can it do what it’s supposed to do.

I am writing this with a smile but I can get very frustrated sometimes.

  • Yes, same, packaging is infuriating! Usually I resort to ripping it with my hands like a wild animal lol if that doesn't work, I use a knife or i ask my partner to help, if she's close by. My partner usually manages to open the packages easily.

But also.. anything that has a 'child lock' on it. I really struggle with those too haha.

  • The same thing is happening when I put an emoji - it randomly adds one mid sentence. Think it's just a glitch?

  • I think I need to stop using them tbh. I don't mean to use them in the middle of a sentence but for some reason they keep appearing there.

The one in the middle was an error, but the one at the end is an angry face and a face palm.

  • What do the emoji's littering your thread mean? I can't actually see them properly and I don't know what they're supposed to mean. Also being a dyslexic person I spend ages looking at them and wondering if they're actually part of the word they're in the middle of.

  • Luckily I can be quite good at wrapping presents if I have the mental energy, but most of the time I don't.

I really dislike opening envelopes as they never tear properly, but the worst thing for me is selophane (sp) packets that supposedly open by peeling off at one of the corners. The amount of times the corner peels off and leaves the packet sealed and impossible to open without a knife.....grrr!

  • How on earth are you supposed to get through the packaging around a new knife or pair of scissors, with a knife, a pair of scissors or injury?

I hopeless with wrapping things too, I watch in awe at people who can make such neat parcels and gifts, I think I'd be bett off just screwing up a bit of wrapping paper around something and taping it down, because thats what it will look like anyway!

  • usually have to resort to scissors or a knife

Only last week I had to resort to a knife.

Just before I read the label informing me that I shouldn't be using scissors or a knife to open the box.

  • Me too. I’m rubbish at opening a package of any description and usually have to resort to scissors or a knife.
im even worse at packaging stuff up myself, especially with sellotape. I just have a nightmare with it, losing the end, getting it all stuck up, ripping the paper….disaster
