St. George's Day - Tomorrow

If they can celebrate our Patron Saint, why can't we celebrate theirs?

There is little concept of mutual give-and-take, these days, due to the way we were Educated and Brought Up. People need to lose the Vicitm Story. Yes, we were mistreated. But that was due to Government Tyranny, than any specific Race or Nationality.

Too Many Marxists, in Positions of Authority, with an Axe to Grind.

  • I'm not a Christian, I can't say I particulalry understand national saints and their celebrations, but you go ahead and celebrate as many saints as you want when you want.

  • Correct. Irish Men helped build the houses which made England thriving, back in the Fifties and Sixties. Back then, those who came to England had to integrate into British Society. Unlike the 'Diversity' of today.

I ordered an England Top, two years ago, with view of wearing it on St. George's Day. It has Saka's Surname, and Squad Number. However, it's a sign of the times that Nike make the England Jerseys. Disappointed

There is little opportunity to debate these issues, in a grown-up fashion. People get too emotional, and use History as a Weapon, rather than a Subject.

  • It took me a while, and I am tired - but are you referring to the English celebrating St Patrick and saying 'why can't the Irish celebrate St George?'

I've no argument with anyone choosing any Saints Day to celebrate.  Go right ahead.
